Description
With the Sauvage series, Lag introduced the innovative concept of Green Guitars. In a world where sustainable development is essential, Lag sought to contribute meaningfully by creating a distinctive line of guitars designed with strong ecological values. This commitment is reflected in two key areas: wood selection and finishing methods.
BrankoWood, developed by scientist Branko Hermescee, offers an eco-friendly alternative to exotic hardwoods by using pine sourced from sustainably managed forests. Through a tropicalization process that enhances density, each Sauvage model features a solid top in Pale BrankoWood, comparable in density to spruce and visually striking. The headstock veneer, fingerboard, and bridge are crafted from Black BrankoWood, offering a look and feel similar to ebony.
The back and sides are made from smoked eucalyptus with a distinctive rough-sawn texture. This textured finish reduces the need for heavy varnishing and extensive sanding, significantly lowering both solvent emissions and energy consumption.
