A New Chapter for Eko Guitars

Eko is one of the most storied names in European guitar making, having been founded in 1959 by Oliviero Pigini in Castelfidardo, Italy. The brand rose to become the largest musical instrument manufacturer in Europe through the 1960s and into the 1970s, at one point producing half a million guitars a year and exporting more instruments to the United States than any other European maker. Eko’s electric guitars from that era, dressed in sparkling pearloid finishes and rocker switches, became icons of the era’s guitar boom, while its acoustic Ranger series went on to sell well over 100,000 units and was played by artists including Jimmy Page, Gerry Rafferty, and Mike Rutherford.

After a hiatus in the mid-1980s, the brand was revived under Lamberto Pigini and has since rebuilt its reputation with a modern range of acoustic and electric guitars combining accessible pricing with genuine heritage.
