Bassists looking to explore new sounds can get a closer look at four Ashdown effects pedals in a demonstration from French effects specialist Palf, featuring guest player Antonin Rubatat.

The video explores the Ashdown Triple Shot, Funk Face, Geezer Butler Pedal of Doom and John Myung Double Drive, combining an introduction to the brand with demonstrations of each pedal in action. It offers an opportunity to hear the different designs and discover what they could bring to a bass pedalboard.

The Triple Shot provides drive control across three frequency bands, allowing players to shape their distortion while retaining control of the low end. Meanwhile, John Myung’s Double Drive features two drive circuits that can be used together, offering another approach to building a driven bass sound. The line-up also includes the Geezer Butler Pedal of Doom, developed for players interested in exploring the character behind Geezer’s tone.

Whether you’re planning a new pedalboard or considering a different flavour of drive, the Palf demonstration is well worth a watch.
